IRON MAN 3

IRON MAN IS THE BEST. I wish that is all I could write about it. But i have to talk about it a little more. Whatever...So I believe this movie was a close adaptation of the book. Hollywood did a fantastic job keeping all the main parts of the story. They even added 1 or 2 things and made it even better. I loved 'The Mandarin' and the big fight scenes. I understand why they didn't kill Dr. Killian like they did in the book, because overall he made a great villain and had a good back story too. I believe this adaptation can be categorized as 'transposition,' Hollywood has its best writers on the job creating the book as best as they could into a movie. And they exceed. Finally, the overall theme of this was rebirth. I believe the writers of the movie did a great job rewriting the book into the movie by adding more, keeping the main points, and happy medium to please comic book lovers and movie lovers. Great job Hollywood! Now stop while your ahead. There are rumors of a 4th Iron man, already :/ damn it Hollywood...

  1. I agree, Iron Man is pretty bad ass. I actually think Tony Stark is the best though. I took my daughter to the drive in to watch it, and she said, "dad, Tony Stark is cool dont you think". That says it all right there!!!

  2. In regard to the rebirth theme, it's interesting that, as you pointed out in class, Tony had to endure destruction of just about everything he owned in order to experience his reinvention. He also had to give up what was seemingly his power, that circle thingy in his chest (can't recall the name). He was free of that, of his tinkering (blew up all of his "babies"), and the shrapnel from around his heart--but was he really free. The last scene of the movie he was towing Jarvis away with him, right? If he IS going to continue "tinkering," that really begs the question: What is he going to rage against now? ;-)
